"A Novel Interactive Slime-Mold Algorithm Platform" explores bio-inspired generative art through computational optimization and emergent behavior.
Accepted at HCI International 2025, this project investigates the intersection of bio-inspired computing and generative aesthetics. The platform utilizes a WebGL-based simulation engine to implement the Slime Mould Algorithm (SMA), generating complex, self-organizing visual structures in real-time.
The system reimagines scientific computing as a creative agent. Users interact with the algorithm as environmental variables, shaping emergent patterns through text- and image-based chemoattractants. By manipulating initial rendering points and defining physical obstacles, the platform demonstrates the potential of swarm intelligence in AI-driven design and digital visualization, bridging the gap between biological simulation and interactive art.
